Ann Parkinson (Cottam Harrop)



Ann Parkinson Harrop, of Huntsville, passed away May 23, 2013. She was born May 15, 1947 in Ogden, Utah to Raymond and Majorie Slater Parkinson. She grew up in Slaterville and graduated from Weber High School. She married Roy Cottam in 1965; later divorced. Ann married her soul mate, Steven L. Harrop in 1987.

She was a member of the LDS Church where she taught Primary and enjoyed Relief Society. Ann helped 100’s of individuals through Legacy, a suicide survivors group.

She liked to read, write poetry, camping (watching the wild life), and fishing and especially enjoyed her family. She also liked to shoot pool and do genealogy.

Ann is survived by her husband, Steven; children, Leslie Engelke (Clay Sanders), Lynette Bennett (Rusty) and daughter-in-law, Holly Cottam; two step-daughters and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Stanger and brother, Michael Parkinson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ryan Cottam; sister, Janice and brother, Eldon.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the West Weber Cemetery, 4592 W. 1000 No. The family will meet friends prior to the service at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. from 12 to 1 p.m.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Dwight Rigby and the ICU team at McKay Dee Hospital.
